Our Board of Directors represents a cross-section of our community and has a passion for our organization and those we serve. The members work hard to ensure long-term sustainability of the organization and oversee that the funds raised directly affect those in need of services.

Board Profiles

Donald E. Walters - President
MACH Solutions – Managing Director
U.S. Air Force – Lt Colonel (Ret.)

Donald E. Walters is the Managing Director of MACH Solutions, a small innovative company offering technology management consulting services and solutions for DoD and other federal programs. In this role, he provides expert support for the management and execution of government programs and is responsible for all aspects of cost, schedule, and technical performance. Don is also a retired Air Force Lt Colonel, having served 23 years in numerous leadership and managerial positions. He earned a Master of Science degree from the Air Force Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Air Force Academy. Don has been a board member with the Turning Point since 2008 and is currently the Board President. He resides in Frisco, Texas.

Karen Penkar - Treasurer
CitiMortgage, Inc.

Karen has been part of The Turning Point family since 2008, when she became a volunteer advocate. In 2011 she joined the Board of Directors as well, and was elected Treasurer for 2012. After graduating from the University of Chicago with a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Literature, Karen traveled to India to edit academic research and train other editors in the finer points of language. Since returning to the US in 2007, she’s worked as an analyst for CitiMortgage, spending her days playing with databases, spreadsheets, process flows, and pivot tables. Reading and baking are her favorite things to do during downtime.

Graham Allen
Product Strategy, Convergys

Graham Allen is a Director of Product Strategy and Management for Convergys Corp where he manages the Intelligent Voice & Mobile Solution product portfolio providing Call Center solutions to increase customer satisfaction while increasing revenue and efficiencies. Graham served in the Air Force over 6 years as an Acquisition Officer acquiring, building and launching satellites and rockets. He earned a Master's of Business Administration from Chapman University in California and a Bachelor of Science Degree from the US Air Force Academy. Graham has been a board member with The Turning Point since 2012 and resides in Frisco, Texas.

Brandy Kearney Chambers
Huawei Technologies USA Inc. -Labor & Employment Counsel

Brandy K. Chambers is the Labor & Employment Counsel for the telecom company, Huawei Technologies USA Inc. In this role she provides legal advice to Huawei regarding all employment related matters within the company. She is formerly with Travelers Insurance Company for 11 years as Claim Counsel handling employment practices and financial institution liability claims. Before coming to Texas in 2001, she practiced law as an associate attorney with Pierce, Couch, Hendrickson, Baysinger & Green. She earned a Juris Doctor and Bachelors of Arts in Sociology from the University of Oklahoma. She also is a member of the Oklahoma and Texas State Bar. Brandy has been a board member with the Turning Point since 2011. She currently resides in Garland, Texas.

Bryan Criswell

Bryan Criswell is the Director of Special Projects at (TSB), an independent, online news and information website based in McKinney, TX. TSB serves as a community watchdog, publishing news and collaborating with the community to share information and promote discussion around news, events, and issues in and around Collin County.

Criswell brings more than 15 years of experience working with federal, state and local governments, non-profit organizations, the media, and the public with expertise including project management; grant administration; advocacy and public outreach/ awareness strategies. Criswell most recently worked at the Executive Office of the Mayor, Office of Victim Services (OVS) in Washington, DC managing multi-million dollar projects in the areas of domestic violence, sexual assault, child and teen victimization, and homicide as part of the ongoing development of a comprehensive system of care for victims of violent crime in the city.

Prior to joining OVS, Criswell worked at the Office for Victims of Crime Resource Center, a component of the National Criminal Justice Reference Service, and the National Center for Victims of Crime promoting the victim-serving missions of both organizations nationally and internationally. Criswell relocated to McKinney in January 2011 from the Washington, DC area and is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park.

Gabrielle H. Kickham
Looper Reed & McGraw, P.C.
Member and Litigator

Gabrielle H. Kickham is a Member of Looper Reed & McGraw, P.C. where she practices law as a commercial trial lawyer and counsels business clients in developing strategies for limiting their potential exposure to lawsuits. Gabrielle grew up in Dallas, Texas and attended Austin College (home of the fighting Kangaroos), where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Business Administration. Gabrielle also attended the University of Texas School of Law where she earned a Juris Doctor degree in 1990. She has been a board member with the Turning Point since 2011.

Kristine Myers

Kristine Myers holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Government and Politics and worked as a paralegal for twenty-two years. She recently stepped away from the legal field to stay home with her two boys. Kristine is currently an education volunteer for The Turning Point’s EPIC Project where she will talk to students about the problems of bullying, sexual harassment and sexual assault. Kristine has been a board member since January 2012 and resides in McKinney, Texas.
