SART Program

Sexual Assault Response Team

What is SART?

A multidisciplinary team providing victim centered response and high quality care to survivors of sexual assault.

A collaborative resource team that addresses the physical, emotional, financial and legal needs of victims and their families.

SART Teams are composed of representatives from agencies that serve victims of sexual assault such as Rape Crisis Centers, Victim Advocates, Law Enforcement, Children's Advocacy Center, Hospitals, SANEs and the District Attorney’s office.

Research has shown that the collaboration of team members leads to increased reporting and conviction rates.

How do SANE/SART programs make a difference?

These specialized teams develop crisis procedures and protocols that meet the specific needs of victims of sexual assault in our county.

SART teams create higher standards of care which increases conviction rates and reporting.

Enhanced communication and cooperation among agencies creates a safer community.
