WE ARE A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT IS COMMITTED TO OUR MISSION OF SERVING SURVIVORS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT AND RAISING AWARENESS ABOUT THE HARMFUL EFFECTS OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE.
WE WORK TO HIGHLIGHT THE IMPACT OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE ON INDIVIDUALS AND OUR COMMUNITY BY SPEAKING AND HOSTING EVENTS IN LOCAL BUSINESSES, FAITH COMMUNITIES, CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS, AND EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS. OUR ADVOCATES SERVE SURVIVORS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT IN HOSPITALS THROUGHOUT COLLIN COUNTY AND ITS SURROUNDING AREAS.

The Rape Crisis Center of Collin County was established by a social worker, Carol Finch, who observed that victims of sexual assault need additional counseling and emotional support beyond the initial crime report. The agency originated in 1982, in conjunction with the North Texas Medical Center and the McKinney Police Department, to ensure that survivors of sexual assault had a professional support system to help them in their recovery. While The Turning Point has experienced many changes, one thing has remained constant, the unwavering commitment to our mission.
