Community Champions for Change

Join The Turning Point in building a safer and healthier community by becoming a Community Champion. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds who are passionate about creating positive change.

 

Program Details

​

The Community Champions program seeks to engage passionate individuals and influential leaders alike as advocates for our organization and mission. As a Community Champion, you'll:

  • Raise Awareness: Actively promote our mission to prevent sexual violence.

  • Collaborate: Identify opportunities for collaboration with other community organizations.

  • Network: Attend two Champion gatherings and virtual Champion Chats per year.

*Champion organizations/businesses will have at least two members of their executive board/leadership complete the training annually and collaborate with our organization on at least one annual event.

 

Who can participate:

​

Individuals and organizations passionate about community well-being, regardless of leadership status. Whether you're a social or business leader or someone deeply committed to positive change, you can be a valuable Community Champion.

​

Training

​

  • On-line modules: Covering the dynamics and prevalence of sexual violence; The Turning Point mission and services; supporting survivors and raising awareness; and community collaboration and violence prevention.

  • In Person Reception: Networking event.

​

The online training is comprehensive, designed to be impactful while respecting your time commitment. The exact duration will depend on individual learning speed, making it manageable for participants.

 

Commitment

  • Attend 2 in-person Champion gatherings plus 2 virtual Champion Chats over the year.

  • Identify potential collaboration opportunities with various organizations.

  • Promote sexual violence awareness and Turning Point's mission.

  • Nominate 2-3 individuals for the program annually.

  • While monetary contributions are appreciated, they are not mandatory. We value your dedication and willingness to contribute in various ways, including time, skills, and advocacy.
